Let’s do it! *leaping fist pump*
Okay…I may have gotten too excited there. Moving on…
How To Make Your Own Coffee Scrub for Cellulite
To get your DIY on here’s what you’re going to need:
- 1/2 cup ground coffee beans
- 1 tablespoon raw honey
- 1 tablespoon almond oil
This recipe is so simple to make you could probably do it with your eyes closed. But don’t. That could get messy.
In a medium-sized bowl mix together all of your ingredients and stir until they form a paste. If your mixture is too liquidy, simply add more coffee grounds. On the other hand, if your mixture is too dry, stir in a little more almond oil.
Once you have attained your desired consistency, hop into the bathtub or your shower because you are about to get dirty! In a good way…
From there you simply:
- rub the scrub into your skin, using circular motions
- this gentle action will help exfoliate your skin
- really focus on areas that are affected by cellulite, like your belly, bum and thighs for 5 minutes
- rinse off thoroughly
- moisturize with your favourite moisturizer
This scrub is gentle enough to use every day on your body, but should only be used on your face twice a week maximum.
What’s so damn awesome about this coffee scrub for cellulite is you should see instant results! And really, who doesn’t want to see their cellulite fading right away?
Why This Works
Did you know that coffee is a great antioxidant? Yep, it is! In fact, it offers immediate cellulite rectifying results from the first time you use it because it helps contract your fat cells.
Now, immediate results are only temporary, lasting between 10-12 hours, but permanent results are more than possible with regular use.
For dull looking skin, apply this coffee scrub for cellulite to your face as well. I know it sounds downright wacky that I’m suggesting you apply a cellulite scrub to your face but if you want glowing skin, you’re going to want to use this on your face.
Not only will it help reverse any damage caused by overexposure to the sun but it will also help to even out blotchy skin tones and contract blood vessels to reduce any facial redness. The addition of honey also helps promote cell rejuvenation and clean your pores.
Worried about clogging your pores? Don’t be. The natural oils found in most light roasted coffee beans actually helps boot blackheads. On top of that, the almond oil helps maintain your skin’s natural moisture barrier while whisking away any dirt, grime or makeup on your face.
Conquering Your Caffeine Concerns
Some people might think that rubbing a caffeinated scrub all over their body will give them an overabundance of energy, but this is not the case. You’re not ingesting it, after all.
Though I will say that you should drink lots of water after using this scrub in order to keep your skin properly hydrated.
Are you worried about staining your skin? Don’t be.
Do, however, worry about staining your shower stall. Immediately after use give your shower or tub a quick scrub down. If you’re having troubles, sprinkle the surface with baking soda and scrub. It will be back to pearly white (or whatever colour your shower or tub is) in no time!
And there you have it, a seriously effective (and simple) coffee scrub for cellulite that won’t cost you more than $5 a week. Add this to your regular routine and let me know how it goes.
